He's been trying to decipher KFC's 11 herbs and spices?
All these scientists trying to find a cure for cancer ... just wasting their time.
This is the important stuff
It's been well known for a long time, that there isn't any 11 herbs and spices. It's nothing more than salt, pepper, and MSG. The 11 herbs and spices is nothing more than a marketing scheme. This was discovered back in the early 80's.
How boring and much more stressful life would be if EVERY SINGLE individual, scientist or not, was forced by self-righteous contol freaks to spend ALL their free time attempting to figure out a cure/solution for this or that problem .
Since everything else is so silly, maybe you shouldn't be wasting your time being snarky on the internet -- why aren't you out finding that cure?!
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground sage
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons Accent (an MSG-based seasoning)
Most of these seasonings have distinctive tastes and appearances -- the herbs, in particular would leave the chicken with a distinct italian herbal flavor & aroma, along with greenish flecks in the batter; none of which I've ever detected while eating KFC.
I'd say there's definitely salt, black pepper, MSG, maybe a little paprika & onion powder, a hint of nutmeg or mace, and that's it for the seasonings -- 6 at the most.
Deciphering what it contains should be an easy task under a microscope, but it's not what type of herbs and spices, its specifically the amounts used that we will never know.
