1,000 Free Pizzas from Domino's Today in Houston

Domino's has announced that they will be giving away 1,000 pizzas to recovery workers and citizens displaced by Hurricane Ike in Houston.

Domino's will set up a mobile unit in front of the Galena Park Independent School District Admin building at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Woodforest Blvd in Houston.  This is where the pizzas will be given away from Noon to 5pm today (Sunday, September 21, 2008).

"Local Domino's Pizza franchise owners, store managers and other volunteer team members are gathering food and other supplies in order to provide a hot meal to citizens in one of the most hard-hit areas in Houston," said Scott McLeod, area vice president of franchise operations for Domino's Pizza. "The local area Coca-Cola bottler is also donating one six-pack of Coke products for every pizza given away," McLeod said.

"There are about 8-10 stores that are still shut down in the area, and we're working to reopen them, but in the meantime, we want to do our part to the help the community that has supported us for so many years," McLeod said. "We're working out the logistics, signing up volunteers and we'll be able to provide 1,000 pizzas to people who haven't had a hot meal in some time."
